Our repertoire, ranging from barbershop to contemporary pieces, reflects our commitment to musical excellence and community engagement. Chapter information:

The Mainliners Chorus was founded in 1963 as the Bryn Mawr Chapter. After 30 years, Rick Serpico, our
front line musical director, has decided to retire. Backed by a strong music leadership team including Bill
Oppenheim and Doug Pratt as Associate Directors, the Mainliners are looking for a new, energetic front-
line director to take us into the next decade and beyond.
We are a dedicated, smaller, TTBB chorus with big chorus roots, having performed on the Barbershop
Harmony Society’s international stage four times in the last 60 years. A two-time Mid-Atlantic District
chorus champion, we have won the MAD Central Division first place AAA chorus many times in the last
few years. Our membership, while comfortable in competition, really has their hearts in performing for
folks in our community to share our love for men’s a cappella music. Each year we put on both a Spring
Show and a Christmas show. We are the longest standing act that performs at Delaware County’s huge
summer concert festival at Rose Tree Park. In 2023, we had nearly 20 outside performances in our
community, not including performances from our chapter quartets.
Our repertoire spans the decades from traditional barbershop songs, show tunes, pop songs, gospel and
religious numbers, patriotic songs, and more. Our songs are highly recognizable and entertaining.
We rehearse in the western Philadelphia suburbs (called the “mainline” of Philadelphia) at St. Paul’s
Episcopal Church, 1105 E Lincoln Hwy, Exton, PA 19341 every Monday from 7-10pm.
