2023 District Convention Information

Hello, M-AD Members!

I hope everyone is enjoying a wonderful summer! I am looking forward to another memorable M-AD Weekend at the Fall District Contest and Convention in September. Not only will we be celebrating our reigning District Quartet Champions First Take, but also recognizing the District’s amazing success at the BHS International Competition this summer, including our new International Champs (and previous M-AD District Champs), Midtown! We plan to feature both quartets throughout the weekend along with our other talented choruses and quartets – more details will be shared once confirmed.

We are also excited to return to the Central York Middle School that hosted us so wonderfully this Spring. This promises to be a well-attended event, so secure your registrations now! Full details on M-AD website at the link below.

  • Deadlines are coming up quickly for the housing blocks, so please book soon! Some may already be sold out by the time you receive this note.
    • Please Note: You are not required to book within the M-AD hotel block – please secure whatever housing you find most appropriate for you
  • Afterglows will largely take place offsite and not at the hotels or schools. We will publish a list of known afterglows to help attendees plan their Saturday evenings. If you or your chapter are planning an afterglow, please let us know so we can distribute details!

Join the Alexandria Harmonizers for their 75th Anniversary Show in September!

Join the Alexandria Harmonizers for a show 75 years in the making. This show will highlight the musical excellence which has propelled the Harmonizers to win twenty medals at international competitions, including four first-place gold medals, as well as the 2018 Greater D.C. Area Choral Excellence “Ovation” award for Best A Cappella Ensemble. The show will feature some chorus favorites, but will also feature some new, custom arrangements.  It will be an evening to the legacy of the wonderful singers who have gone before us and to look forward to amazing things that are coming.

We are also pleased to welcome to the stage our newest ensemble, Metro Voices, as well as gold medal winning quartets Max Q and Ringmasters! Come and celebrate Barbershop at its best!
